Growing companies usually have a need to build critical mass in one
or more areas from product to market to overall infrastructure and
ability to execute. The solution may be as simple as additional
capital to fund the building of critical mass. Sometimes a better and
faster solution is a partnership or deal with another company who
possesses the missing ingredient. The strategic partner may be a
source of capital, or a source of the missing ingredient, or both.
For Haider-Capital's young company clients, the strategic partner is
usually an older, larger and more established company.
Haider-Capital professionals have extensive experience in structuring
and maintaining long-term relationships between large and small
companies. Haider-Capital also has experience in technology licensing
arrangements. The Haider-Capital team will work with management to
determine the optimal structure and to "level the playing field" in
negotiations.
Strategic alliances are often an outgrowth of the capital raising
process in which the larger entity is willing to provide capital on
favorable terms in return for some other form of strategic
consideration. This can be treacherous territory where the potential
for mortgaging one's future is high. Haider-Capital has experience in
this area and can guide the process to form the right relationships at optimal valuations, without giving the store away strategically.
